Our Professional Staff

Mrs. Paternoster -	Director & Lead Teacher
Mrs. Paternoster has a degree in Early Childhood Education with a Minor in Psychology. She has been working as Lead Teacher of our Three-YearOold program since 1997. As of June 2013, Jane Paternoster became the new Director at Christ Church Preschool as well as continuing her duties teaching the Three Year Old children.

Mrs. Tessitore -	Assistant Teacher
Mrs. Tessitore has a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Art. She has been assisting in our Three-Year-Old Program since 1996.

Mrs. Jacob -	Lead Teacher
Mrs. Jacob has been working in our Four-Year-Old Pre-K program since 2007. She has a Lead Teacher certificate and is attending classes to complete a degree in Early Childhood Education. She is also a qualified teacher of the Handwriting without Tears Pre-K Curriculum Program.

Mrs. Petrie -	Assistant Teacher
Mrs. Petrie has been working in our Four-Year_old Pre-K program since 2007. Previously she worked as a paraprofessional. She has also earned credits toward a degreen in Education at S.C.S.U. and has volunteered her time at different eductional facilities

Mrs. Modesti -	Second Assistant/Teacher Aid
Mrs. Modesti previously completed certification as a co-teacher in a Florida NAEYC accredited preschool. She is a qualified paraprofessional. She began working at our school in 2010 after moving to CT.

All staff members are required to participate in continuing education classes, workshops, and seminars every year. We are members of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Southwestern Connecticut Association for the Education of Young Children. In addition, we subscribe to many professional publications, which allow us to be up-to-date in the latest educational theories and practices.

In-service training is required by the State of CT. If it is necessary to conduct training for preschool staff during school time, parents will be notified one month in advance to allow sufficient time to make other arrangements for your children. Most training will be conducted when school is not in session.
